Founded in 2003 by Mr Geoffrey Maina (Managing Partner), Maina Makome & Company Advocates has grown from a boutique practice into a full-service law firm recognised for its commercial litigation strength and transactional legal advisory-capability.

Geoffrey Maina is a seasoned litigator and advisor. He holds an L.L.B (Hons) from the University of Nairobi, and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the East African Law Society and the African Bar Association. His professional experience spans more than 30 years. He has personally been admitted to the Bar since July 1995 and has held senior posts in major law-firms such as Olekaparo & Mailanyi, Wanjama & Company and A.G.N. Kamau & Anne W. Kimani & Company Advocates, giving him deep exposure to complex civil, commercial and banking litigation.

Under his leadership, the firm has built a reputation for handling high-stakes litigation and transactions for banking institutions, micro-finance firms, insurers, corporate clients and public procurement matters.

Another key member is Mr Luke Mukathe, who holds an L.L.B (Hons) from the Kisii University, and is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court. Although early in his career, he brings a fresh dynamic to the firm’s conveyancing, drafting and litigation practice.
